For reasons unknown, Praxis, caretaker of the Nexus, has descended into madness. Harnessing the power of the Great Flame, Praxis has sent legions of destructive armies to keystone worlds. Fearing the end of these worlds, attendants of the Nexus, in defiance of the Mad God, have used the remaining energy of the Flame to summon the Ember Knights, legendary guardians of the Nexus and the life she maintains.
