I am happy to announce that SwitchBuddy recently got another significant update. Version 5.3.0 adds two new features for SwitchBuddy+ members.
Smart Lists
If you ever created “Smart Folder” in Apple Notes for example, then new Smart Lists in SwitchBuddy should feel familiar. You can define criteria for games and the smart list will automatically show all matching games.
This gives you new ways for organizing your growing collection. For example if you create smart list that shows games marked as “Finished” which you rated at least 4/5, then you can easily find games worth a re-play.
And there is tons more ways to combine these filters - particularly if you are already using custom tags for your games.
Stats
I wanted to provide new way to look at the game collection. New Stats screen will show you status breakdown at a glance and much more. For example how many games you completed or how large is your wishlist compared to owned games.
The section also has various “insights”. For example easy way to show games that have been collecting dust in your backlog the longest 🫣.
Liquid Glass
Update 5.3.0 also contains support for the new design language in iOS 26 called Liquid Glass. SwitchBuddy should look more at home on the new system versions. Mostly by using the new tab bar design alongside the glass materials and more rounded corners.
Liquid Glass is HUGE change and I will be refining the design further.
